for Chamber Execs |
from

1. |
501(c)6 is only a tax designation. Run your chamber like a for profit
business.
2.
Work as hard at retaining existing members as on recruiting new ones.
3. |
Never stop answering the question "Why should I be a chamber member?"
4. |
People will always find money for the things they want to find money
for, if you provide enough perceived value.
5. |
Make money on everything you do.
If doesn't have to be a lot, but every dollar counts. Never rely on one major
source for revenue.
6. |
Small business owners represent 85% of most chambers, so solve the
problems that keep them up at night.
7. |
Make sure your chamber is perceived as a true business partner, and not a
civic organization or social club. |
